At some point in our lives, the makeup we wore in our 20s and 30s, just doesn’t suit us anymore, and it can be difficult to know what works and what doesn’t. When you’re younger almost anything goes, but as you get older and fine lines start to appear, a few little tweaks can improve the look of your makeup, and this is where makeup lessons are invaluable!
How We Start
My makeup lessons start with a mini facial! You get to cleanse your face, apply serum, moisturiser, and SPF, before we start. This ensures your skin is clean, hydrated and nourished, giving the perfect base on which to apply your makeup! Click here to see the full range of vegan and cruelty free skincare products you’ll be using!
What Happens Next?
Once your skin is fully prepped, the makeup lesson begins! You have access to all my LimeLife by Alcone professional makeup and vegan brushes too, so you don’t need to bring anything with you. I always start with the eyes too, which surprises a lot of my clients! There is a reason for this. If you have already done your complexion, and there’s fall out from your eyeshadows, you then wipe that away with your complexion makeup! So we start with priming your face first, the move onto brows, then eyeshadows, eyeliner, mascara, foundation, complexion, and finally your lips.
What Will I Learn?
With every makeup lesson, I do a step on one side of your face, and then you repeat that step on the other side! Each step is explained to you, and I will guide you through your application. I cover everything, including the following…
~ skincare product advice
~ choosing the right colours and shades for your skin tone
~ how to enhance your eyes and brows
~ colour correcting camouflage
~ foundation application
~ blush/bronze application
~ lipstick application
~ types of makeup brushes, how to use them, and how to look after them
~ application of strip lashes (optional extra)
~ what to invest in, and what to save on
~ detailed face chart provided, with what products to use, and where
~ follow up email with a detailed ‘How To…’
~ support after your appointment if you have any questions
So, Are Makeup Lessons Worth It?
In a nutshell, yes!! You will learn so much and in the privacy of your own home too! Makeup lessons last approximately 2 1/2 hours, and even though that may seem like a long time, the time does go very quickly. I’m always available afterwards for follow up advice, plus you will have your ‘How To…’ guide to refer to afterwards. P.S I do makeup lessons for all ages, and all genders too, making all of my makeup services fully inclusive!
